The Jim Corbett National Park has been divided into 5 Tourism Zones for ease of exploration. But another major reason behind this division is because the Corbett National Park is home to diverse terrains and some of these terrains require periodical maintenance before being left open to visitors.
The number of visitors to the Corbett National Park has been increasing steadily over the years, and the last reported number was more than 70,000 people, which is a testimony to the success of the Corbett tourism packages including Corbett night stay packages.
The Corbett National Park has 3 well defined Seasons:
Based on these seasons, the Corbett National Park has some zones which close down for periodical maintenance. The Jhirna Zone is the ever open zone in the park as it mainly comprises of strong and well constructed roads which withstand the monsoons that the park is subject to. As a result the Jhirna Zone is open to visitors around the year.
The 2 major zones which are subject to closure are the Bijarani and Dhikala Zones as the roads in these zones get washed away during the monsoons. Reconstruction of this road takes time and these zones are reopened in the mid October and November respectively. However if you want to visit all the Zones and experience every shred of Nature the park has to offer, then visiting between Mid November and Mid June is most recommended as all zones will be open at this time.
